Ashley & Cody — Minted

Ashley

and

Cody

Wedding Party

Sam Barrington

Maid of Honor

I am one of those people whom has a lovely collection of humans, as I say, and sometimes people I know will be like oh you know so and so… and this happened over several occasions before actually meeting Ashley.

Met her at a church event. Then again at a lunch thing and then after that started hanging out with various friends with here. Through time our friendship grew, I think purely due to being the same age (we even share the same birthday month), being in similar seasons of life, and having similar life experiences. Then there was the sharing of wisdom, loving each other and praying. It wasn’t till this past summer where significant time was spent together where we got to know each other further.

Then something started to happen and I, unlike some others, got to have one of the front seats in this adventure that has been Ashley and Cody's friendship turn to relationship. Thankful to call them both friends and thankful to be able to celebrate them both this summer.

Chelsy Mesmer

Maid of Honor

Ashley and I met when I joined her church dance small group  We both had no idea what friendship laid ahead! It has been an incredible almost 10 years I think?!?!

We always spent every holiday together when we were in the same city! That's 6 years of Thanksgivings, Christmas, Easter and Birthdays! You were one of the first people to every hold our son and look after him for us. We have been each others emergency contact person, so basically as close to sisters as possible! You have been an amazing friend and sister by choice! Love you dearly

Simone Eisler

Bridesmaid

Simone and Ashley knew each other from a previous church but really connected as they both began attending the Exchange Church! Through long coffee talks, doing a Bible study together and being in a small group, Ashley and Simone grew their friendship deeper.

Miriam Falconberg

Bridesmaid

Ashley and I connected eight years ago at church and quickly became close friends. I'm incredibly grateful for her friendship and am thrilled to stand by her and Cody on their special day!

Jen Lloyd

Bridesmaid

I met Ashley in Grade 9 at Constable Neil Bruce Middle School. It must have been a good story but neither of us remember how it happened because it’s been such a long time, lol! That will tell you how long we’ve been friends!

Ashley quickly became friends with our small friends group and we have all been friends ever since. She fit right in with our craziness and wit!

Ashley and I share a lot of the same likes and common interests such as movies, eats, music, sports, so needless to say there is always something to do when we’re together!

Over the years of school Ashley got subjected to the lots of pranks (over boys) haha #sorrynotsorry! But we’re glad she finally settled with Cody!

We have always considered Ashley the mom of our friends group, she is caring and loving and is always there if you need someone at your side. Her and I have shared many adventures together, both good and crazy over the years, from the time we met to now. I am so glad to be sharing her big day with her as she starts on her adventures with Cody in life.

Mandi Vissers

Bridesmaid

Mandi met Ashley through their small group with The Belonging Co in 2021. After trips to Nashville and Arizona, coupled with several zoom bible studies and GloCo chats over the past few years, they knew God had brought them together as friends and sisters in Christ.

Jessie Whipp

Bridesmaid

I met both Cody and Ashley at The Exchange Church. Cody and I attended bible studies together and have been friends for years. The last few years in particular, I have had the pleasure of seeing him grow in God. His depth of relationship in Christ has been a joy to watch, especially as he prays over others and speak God’s word.

Then Ashley came into the picture and we became friends right away! She is a wonderful leader, and it’s so wonderful to have gotten to know her and see her continuously growing heart for people. After many coffee dates, bible studies, long talks and a crazy trip to Nashville, I was honoured to be invited to stand with her in celebrating this day.

Also, me and Eric totally called this match.

Jordan Couronne

Best Man

My name’s Jordan Couronne and I’m Cody’s older brother or as they say….Assistant to the Assistant Regional Co-Manager (or Co-Best Man).

I met Cody shortly after he was born and met Ashley at The Exchange Church, when Cody and I attended a Hearing God small group that Ashley was co-leading with Levi. We have all hung out together, prayed together and have so much in common, namely STAR WARS, LEGO and, of course, movies.

Stephen Giovanetto

Best Man

Cody and I first met in early 2018 at an Exchange small group.  While we weren't immediately besties, we got to know each other pretty well, as we were both consistent attendees at the Exchange and community group.

During Covid a deeper friendship was forged in the crucible of weekly Age of Empires games with Taylor and Levi, and in Sept 2020, when I moved to a nearby neighbourhood, we started getting together regularly for bike rides, gaming, and whatever yard work projects Cody had on the go.

Cody is one of my closest and most reliable friends, and I am honoured to be his vice-president of the CRV owners association.

Nick Bjazevic

Groomsman

Cody and I met 24 years ago on a crisp spring day at the end of his cul-de-sac. What I remember most about meeting Cody was how cool and intimidating I thought he and Jordan were in their sweet pokemon shirts and how they probably wouldn't want to be friends with the younger kid in the neighborhood. We became inseparable rather quickly and I've been privileged to call Cody my best friend ever since and while I've watched him grow and mature he remains as one of the kindest, purest souls I've ever met a truly special human.

Levi Fehr

Groomsman

I met Cody silently. At The Exchange Church. He didn't speak, and neither did I. But slowly, we started to hang out... and then I moved in. 4 years ago? Cars, video games, and... Star Wars. And I met Ashley at The Exchange Church 3 years ago? Also Star Wars. It was great.

Harley Jacobsen

Groomsman

I met Cody 20 years ago through his cousin Nathan. We shared the same passion for cars and video games. I knew Cody and I would be life long friends. He’s one of the greatest guys I know. He stood up with me at my wedding 8 years ago, and it’s an honour to be standing with him at his. Sign the contract big boy.

Eric Whipp

Groomsman

Years ago I needed to come to God. I found The Exchange Church and a community small group where I met Cody. I was immediately aware of his kindness, laid back demeanour, and...his gym shorts in the -25 weather.

Since then, with many a long night spent solving tricky problems with automobiles and or life, I have come to value my relationship with him truly. Whether you just need to talk or borrow a tool, Cody has your back.

Taylor Zbirun

Groomsman

Taylor and Cody met at the Exchange Church after Taylor moved to Calgary in early 2019. They struck up a friendship over their mutual love for defeating perilous foes in a game they both enjoyed in their teen years. The obsession grew and they still enjoy conquering ancient lands to this day and have developed a deeper friendship based on their faith and love for family and friends.Â
